Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a life coach – even before the term ‘life coaching’ was coined.
I was the one friends turned to for non-judgmental advice or for just a sound-board effect. I would find myself drawn to psychology and ‘self-help’ books at the bookstore and spend hours watching the Oprah TV show. I would devise little games filled with positive quotes and hand them out as gifts to friends and family.
Knowing what you want is the first step. Getting there is a whole other story. So after years of ‘selling-out’ my dream to take on more socially-acceptable jobs and career paths, I finally made the jump and signed up for Martha Beck Coach Training.
Its no accident that Martha Beck http://www.marthabeck.com was the first ‘life coach’ I heard about and I’ve been reading her columns in O The Oprah Magazine for years. I love it when things come full circle.
