Quick Trick to Snap Out of It!

The Now

“If you are depressed, you are living in the PAST. If you are anxious, you are living in the FUTURE. If you are at peace, you are living in the PRESENT.” ~ Lao Tzu

Next time you’re walking around with a cloud over your head, stop and ask yourself:
These knots in my stomach, shortness of breath or heavy blob on my chest … why are they there? Where is my mind at when I feel these things in my body?
Am I re-living yesterday’s angry confrontation with my mom?
Am I trying to imagine tomorrow’s outing and the possibility of bumping into my ex?
We suffer the most when we choose to argue against reality (the past, is the past – its gone, its done) or when we argue against God’s business (the future and all that it holds)
One of the quickest ways to still your racing mind and bring yourself back to the here and Now — the center of peace — is to ground yourself in your body.
Now try this:
1- Either lie down on the floor and feel all your muscles (if you have the space and privacy) or else just sit where its most comfortable and close your eyes.
2- Take three deep, slow, cleansing breaths — really feel each breath go in and fill the corners of your lungs, chest and belly. And enjoy the release of breathing all the toxins out again.
3- Next, open your eyes – and let them slowly wander across the room or the surrounding your’re in – really taking note of all the objects, furniture, trees, smells and sounds.
With Love and Empowerment,
